SGL Season 13 Detailed Program Changes

First and foremost, welcome to a brand-new season of the Summer Golf League!

Since the conclusion of Season 12, we’ve carefully reviewed your thoughtful feedback, and we’re excited to introduce some new enhancements to this season’s experience. As we gear up for Season 13, there are two key updates we’d like to share with you.

Improving Your Registration and SGL Reporting Experience

With the launch of our new website last summer, we’re excited to introduce a dedicated SGL webpage, accessible anytime at elpradogolfcourse.com/sgl

You can also save the link directly to your device as a web app for easy access.

The SGL webpage will feature weekly standings and positions for all flights, league updates, FAQs, and an inquiry form to connect with our staff for any questions or requests.

Starting April 1st, priority registration (SGL Season 12 players) for SGL Season 13 will be available through our website. Visit the SGL site to secure your spot once registration opens. Please review the new registration requirements in the next section.

For any substitutions during the season, please use the dedicated form (available on the SGL website). Substitution requests must be submitted by 3:00 PM on game day to ensure timely adjustments. Please refer to the next section for the updated substitution requirements.

New Changes to the SGL 13 Gameplay Experience

Price Change

For this season, the entry fee will be $600/team, with $150 going towards this year’s purse (approx. $20.45/week/player in course fees). The increased purse means higher payouts.

First Place: $800 | Second Place: $600 | Third Place: $400

Playoff Changes

Only 6 teams will make the playoffs this year, down from 8. The top 2 seeds will receive a bye, so every regular-season match matters!

Fight hard until the very end!

No substitutes in Playoffs

Based on player feedback, substitutions will not be allowed during playoff games. Please plan your schedules accordingly.

New Substitution Policy

Based on player feedback, we will now enforce stricter rules on subs to maintain fairness and integrity in the league and ensure fair flights. In order for a sub to be eligible, they must show a handicap to the summer league staff for verification before playing.

New Registration Policy

Based on player feedback, we will require a handicap submission during sign-up to ensure a fun and fair competition. If we receive similar complaints during the season, we reserve the right to move players to a higher flight.

Below is a reminder of the scoring averages for each flight:

A-Flight: 70-78 | B-Flight: 79-85 | C-Flight: 86-92

D-Flight: 93-99 | E-Flight: 100+

 

Last but certainly not least, this league holds a special place in all of our hearts here at El Prado. Every week, we are committed to providing you with timely scoring updates, standings, starting holes, and other key details throughout the season. Our goal is to have all updates available by the following afternoon after each game.
